HISTORY
The Path of Kaw Ikigai Village
In 1975, a project named Yamasato started as a project to create a trout-farming fishing pond using the natural water from the Yatsugatake Mountains. This is the current 'Fishing pond Yamasato' and is also linked to wine trout farming. In 1980, the Lodge Atelier was opened as a hotel. Lodge Atelier, a hot-spring hotel where you can appreciate a collection of jazz LP records, is a coveted destination for jazz fans, retaining the retro feel of the Showa period, and is now very popular with many domestic fans and inbound guests as a place to stay with pets.

OUTLINE
About KAW IKIGAI VILLAGE
The Kaw Ikigai Village is located on a scenic 1,000-metre-high plateau at the southern foot of the Yatsugatake Mountains and covers an area of approximately 350,000 tsubo (116 hectares), creating a unique village in the world based on the concept of IKIGAI, which originated in Japan and is now recognised worldwide.
IKIGAI is about relationships with people, things you like or are good at, incentives for yourself (not just money, but also praise) and, above all, a sense of happiness. A Japanese study showing that people with this IKIGAI have a healthier and longer life expectancy than those without it was also published overseas. The results of this Japanese research have since been proven in many other countries around the world, and it is now recognised that IKIGAI is the mystery behind the Miracle Japan of healthy longevity.
We aim to create a unique Village in the world based on this IKIGAI concept.

FACILITY
Our Facility
The Nakamura Keith Haring Museum and the art boutique hotel Key Forest are both unique or top-class facilities in the world.
As fot the golf course, the Kobuchisawa Country Club is another scenic resort golf course with character and history. The dynamic course at an altitude of 1,000 metres is probably the most attractive place for professional golfers and first-time golfers alike, who always come here not only to play golf, but also to enrich their lives through human interaction. The golf course should not be developed as a mere golf course, but as a place where people can enjoy golf with their families and friends under the keyword IKIGAI.
Next to the golf course, visitors can enjoy horse riding and see horses grazing and enjoying themselves. The need for such a healing space, a non-digital world of contact, is expected to increase in the future.

About Our Future
KAW IKIGAI VILLAGE is an international place of diversity and creativity with many different ways to spend your time.
The most important element of IKIGAI is the direct communication between people, which we have learned from the pandemic caused by COVID-19.
IKIGAI Village will be the perfect place for companies to hold overnight off-site meetings, executive meetings, and other occasions where staff from overseas can get together for discussion, get to know each other better, and have fun with a sense of humanity. -
Access
KAW IKIGAI Village is located only two hours from Tokyo, with the express train stopping in Kobuchisawa station, and also very accessible by car, with the Kobuchisawa IC just two hours from Tokyo and five minutes from there to the Village. It is also easily accessible from the Keihan and Chukyo regions by motorway, and the mountain scenery is spectacular, making it an enjoyable place to travel.
Meanwhile, construction of the Linear Shinkansen Line, which is planned for 2027, is underway. It is expected to provide access from Tokyo Shinagawa to Kofu in 20 minutes, and also to Nagoya in 20 minutes, and to Kansai in 40 minutes. The time will come when access from Kofu will only take around one hour from Tokyo and Osaka. -
Accomodation
As for accommodation, the art & boutique hotel, Hotel Key Forest, Villa Key Forest and Lodge Atelier, as well as Log House Atelier, Cottage Atelier, Japanese-style Shosu-An Yatsugatake, next-generation education and training facility YUZURIHA, Kobuchisawa Country Club Lodge, Golf Academy IKIGAI Guesthouse, Kobuchizawa Country Riding Club Lodge, Wellbeing House, and other accommodation facilities of different tastes, with a capacity for around 200 people.

Kobuchizawa Country Club
Kobuchizawa Country Club continues to evolve as a genuine 18-hole private course designed by Kokichi Yasuda. In November this year, the long-awaited 400-yard-long driving range will finally be completed. There, you can hit directly from the grass. Cart access is possible even on rainy days, and we intend to accommodate everyone from the young to the elderly and even people with disabilities so that they can enjoy playing golf. The facility is also designed so that not only golf players but also their wives and children can play.
Surrounded by Mount Fuji, the Yatsugatake Mountains and the Southern Alps, the scenery is top class in Japan and unparalleled in the world. Blessed with cool summers, little rain and clear skies, the area is sure to attract many golfers. -
Restaurent
Restaurant Kee Spring serves hearty meals with a focus on steaks, including local vegetables, home-farmed Koshu wine trout and Japanese beef from various regions, including Koshu beef. Restaurant 1150 at Kobuchizawa Country Club serves mainly Japanese cuisine to golfers as well as the general public.
The newly opened Yuzuriha restaurant will mainly serve meals for training or parties.

OUR HOPE
Where people can once again
revive their lives and where people can experience happiness
To achieve this, our staff will continue to take on challenges with IKIGAI as the keyword.
